Four Generation Quilt

I call this one a 4 generation because, when I was a wee child, my dear Mother copied pictures from my coloring book and hand embroidered the little animals onto blocks. The printed fabric blocks are from clothes my siblings and I wore Mother made and blocks from my own first projects as a young seamstress. I saved these and put the quilt top together when my daughter was a wee little one. Although it was not properly quilted, she still used it and enjoyed it. Well I got my Lenni and it seems like it came full circle. Now my daughter has a daughter and she is having a birthday very soon, so this will be a special gift to her!

Stained Glass Rocks

 This quilt was one that I made this past fall/winter of 2013-14. The pattern came from Annie's Quilting, Sweet Layer Cakes. It is called Crumbled Cake and was designed by, Carol S. Vagts. I used all Batiks by Moda. I pieced on a domestic and quilted it on my APQS Lenni Longarm.

Baby Girl Quilt

My dear husband's son and his lovely wife had a baby girl and this is a quicky quilt that I put together after I found out the colors they chose for her nursery.

I machine quilted this on a Designer Diamond Embroidery machine.

Just a little gift that I made for someone. I love the scrappy quilts and all the hand embellishing potential they offer.

Lil' Trip

This little baby quilt measures 44" X 44". I can't remember what fabric I used. I hand quilted this one and added a simple sheer ribbon bow in the center square.

Grand Dad's Baby Shoes

Grand Dad's Baby Shoes What beautiful weather we are having in the mid-west. It feels like a precursor into Autumn and really gets my creative juices flowing. The sounds and smells in the mornings from where I sit on the front porch and drink my coffee, are so refreshing and inspirational. Its a great start to my days! I have picked up the pencil again and have finished a drawing for my sister in-law. (If she wants it.) I collect baby shoes and recently she brought a pair that belonged to my late Father in-law, her Father. The thoughtful gesture from her made me weep with both excitement and sentiment. I was truly touched and absolutely love the little worn black shoes. They seem to be filled with long ago memories and I can practically hear the giggles and coos. So I decided to construct a little composition and draw the little vignette. It is done strictly with one Mirado Black Warrior HB2 pencil.

This drawing was a lot of fun for me and already, I am anxious to start another. My husband who is an illustrator and graphics designer is known to say that you can solve most of the worlds problems with just a pencil. Using this medium sure made me happy!
